World Record Attempt Information

We are pleased to offer you the opportunity  to be part of an official record attempt to form the largest brass band in the world.

With the formal recognition of Guinness World Records, this historical event will be a moment to remember for everyone involved.

In addition to setting a record for the first officially recorded Largest Brass Band in the World, all proceeds from the event are going to support the work of Brass Band Aid and The Big Blow’s focused objective to raise enough money to sponsor two children from the community of Adet, Ethiopia for at least 5 years.

There are numerous opportunities to raise funds.  From basic registration to the purchase of the official event merchandise, from a simple Birthday message on the Big Screens in the event venue to a vast range of advertising opportunities throughout the resort.

The 30 member Massanutten Brass Band is the Shenandoah Valley’s very own “British-style” brass band. Formed just in September of 2001, the group has already developed a loyal and enthusiastic following of brass band fans. The ensemble, directed by Kevin Stees, is comprised of outstanding musicians from the Shenandoah Valley, Charlottesville and Northern Virginia, including members who are school band directors, music professors, amateur musicians, and college and high school music students. In addition to concert performances, the band, sponsored by the Massanutten Presbyterian Church, provides music for the church’s worship services several times a year.
