The site’s title, “The Internet Bandsman’s ‘Everything Within’” (IBEW) is a nod to the Victorian domestic how-to handbook, “Enquire Within Upon Everything.”

Denis Wick back at it

Corporate Update from Denis Wick:

Six months on from the horrifying news of the Besson bankruptcy announced in December 2005, Denis Wick Products, Ltd. reports that the marketing and distribution of the world-renowned mouthpieces and mutes is now working better than any of us could have believed possible. We are settled into our new premises and the new systems are running well. Sales are up globally by almost 50%, new contracts have been negotiated and the only problems are in producing enough for the ever-increasing demand.

To that end, production staff numbers at both factories have been increased, with productivity rising steadily, although quality control is as thorough as ever. We are proud that this is one small part of British industry which is expanding! There are exciting new products in the pipeline which will emerge later this year.

The East Yorkshire Motor Services Brass Band

The East Yorkshire Motor Services Brass Band is one of the top brass bands in the world and is probably the most successful band ever during it’s sixteen years history. In soccer terms the Band started as a Sunday League team in 1989 and achieved promotion in almost consecutive years through the 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st divisions and then to the Premier league! Having been promoted to the North of England Premier League in 1996 the Band then earned the title of Northern Area Champions for a remarkable four successive years.

Brighouse And Rastrick Brass Band

The Brighouse and Rastrick Band is without a doubt the best and most certainly consistent ‘public subscription band’ in the world. The people of the villages of Brighouse and Rastrick made donations to establish the band in the late nineteenth century. Today it still continues to be supported through public subscriptions and its own fund raising efforts. Traditionally its amateur members would pride themselves on being financially independent, yet are still highly regarded as one of the ‘elite’ on both contest and concert platform.

Enfield Citadel Band

Enfield Citadel Band was founded in Tottenham, north London, in 1892, and soon established a reputation as one of the Salvation Army’s leading musical groups. In 1972, with the merging of two Salvation Army corps, the band moved to Enfield, on the outskirts of north London, and assumed its present title. There, as before, the band’s principal purpose has remained - to proclaim the Gospel message within the corps, in open-air activities and in visits to hospitals etc. in the same way as Salvation Army bands throughout the world.
