The U.S. Air Force Academy Band has a vacany for tuba
Demonstration Tape- submit by May 12, 2006
Individuals will be selected for live audition based on the demonstration tape.
Tape should be approximately 15 minutes in duration. Please include selections which thoroughly demonstrate your tone, flexibility, range, intonation and rhythmic accuracy.
Include Concerto for Bass Tuba (mvmt 1), Vaughn Williams, or a solo of similar difficulty from the standard repertoire (accompanied or unaccompanied).
Include an etude that demonstrates your playing ability. Please select from Melodious Etudes, Bordogni/Rochut (8vb) or 60 Selected Studies, Kopprasch.
If at all possible, include two selections of differing styles that demonstrate your performance capability in the brass quintet idiom. For example, include a solo with brass quintet or a brass quintet selection with a prominent tuba part.
